Welcome to That Figures Women’s Fitness!  I’m so glad you’ve decided to join me!

I grew up in a large family and we were always pretty healthy because, in those days, moms prepared healthy meals regularly and kids skated, biked, and ran outdoors daily.  Fitness never came up as a formal topic and girls were expected to “grow out of” the phase of enjoying participation in sports.

But when I became a mother myself I found that I loved watching my son and three daughters take part in team sports, so much so that I even got into coaching softball for a while.  I also coached high school cheerleading.  I enjoyed the healthy feeling I got from using all my muscles and being out in the fresh air.

In the mid 2000’s I owned a women’s fitness franchise.  Through that experience I learned volumes about health and fitness and about how to teach it to others.  I also realized that women had a hard time finding fitness advice specifically for women.

I decided to combine my interests in fitness, writing, coaching, and teaching to create this blog.  I hope you’ll stop by regularly to leave comments, make suggestions, and ask questions.
